AD 1. AERODROME - INTRODUCTION

AD 1.1 AERODROME AVAILABILITY AND CONDITIONS OF USE

1. General conditions

1.1 This section contains information on major aerodromes which are available for the use of international and domestic aircraft operations. AD 2 comprise a detailed description of the physical characteristics of aerodromes.

Applicable ICAO documents

ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices contained in the ANNEX 14 are applied to the maximum extent possible.

2. Use of military aerodromes

Civil aircraft operators must get an prior approval from the ROK MND(Ministry of National Defense) in accordance with the ‘Agreement for use of aerodromes between ROK MND and ROK MOLIT’ in order to operate at military aerodromes. No prior approval is required in case of an emergency.

Military aerodromes available for civil aircraft are joint civil and military airports such as RKJJ, RKPS, RKPK, RKNW, RKTN, RKTU and RKTH.

3. Low visibility procedures (LVP)

3.1 Low Visibility Procedures applicable to CAT II/III operations at aerodromes are established for operation in a visibility of less than RVR 550 m or a cloud ceiling of less than 60 m(200 ft).

3.2 Civil airports at which low visibility procedures established in Incheon FIR are Incheon International Airport, Gimpo International Airport, Jeju International Airport and Gimhae International Airport. Details are listed in pages RKSI AD 2-25, RKSS AD 2-13, RKPC AD 2-11 and RKPK AD 2-13.

4 Aerodrome operating minima

4.1 Aerodrome has established the landing and take off weather minimum.

4.2 See AD 2.22 under the particular AD section for take off weather minimum and instrument approach charts for landing minimum.
